a collective psyche | 2018

Revisiting the seascapes of Plymouth city was a profound meditation and time well spent on thoughts about floaters, migrants, boat people – people I can relate to. I discovered within the borders of the beach that people are looking out to the sea to call their loved ones’ home. As if the sea was the temporary place to call home.

The work consists of sixty-nine pieces of small worlds that I found in my seascapes. I can see more than just the waves. I see new worlds and cities that my mind latently creates. I imagine mountains, skies, birds and faces - in each and every one of them a different story.

The water really is a collective psyche.
